Abstract

Some words in language give clues about history, civilization level, social conditions, political life, understanding of life and development level of nations. That’s why, linguists say language is the memory of nations. Many words in language give details about objects they represent. Like if these objects are local or foreign or which language and location these objects come from and how these objects find room in our life. They also enlighten us about relationships between nations and the course of these relationships. The term of “ipek” “silk” in English is this kind of word. Silk is a substance which is still in demand despite the progress in agriculture, industry and technology. While inputs hardly changed in production of silk, it’s also hard to acquire and process this expensive substance. The term of “ipek” is a Turkish word in terms of its root and lexicalization. It shows itself as the word of “aġi”
