Abstract

SnO 2 nanoparticles have been synthesized by poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG)-mediated hydrothermal method. This is a convenient route to large-scale synthesis of SnO 2 nanoparticles with average diameters up to about 50 nm. X-ray powder diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, UV–vis absorption and Fourier transform infrared spectrum were used to characterize the as-prepared SnO 2 nanoparticles.
