Peer review declaration

Abstract

All papers published in this volume of IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering have been peer reviewed through processes administered by the Editors. Reviews were conducted by expert referees to the professional and scientific standards expected of a proceedings journal published by IOP Publishing.• Type of peer review: ISCES 2020 Conference follows Double-Blind Review where all received articles are checked for similarity through the official account of Turnitin. All the Articles passed the similarity given to random authors for evaluation and given us their reports in certain forms, according to double review decision and Editors decision the paper either accepted, revised, or rejected.• Conference submission management system: Google Forms was used as a conference submission management system. A special form was designed using an official account affiliated with the University of Diyala.• Number of submissions received: In the Beginning, we received more than 223 submissions from all authors that come from different countries. We consider only 218 papers for further progress. The conference organizers, scientific committee, guest Editors consider only the suitable submission (218) for further process.• Number of submissions sent for review: The total number sent for reviews was 218 and based on scientific committee decision and guest editor decision and alternative reviewers.• Number of submissions accepted: Out of 218, papers we select 150 papers as initial Accepted Articles, we processed only 133 Articles due to the following reasons:• Some Corresponding authors don’t complete the revision well.• Some Papers do not complete the Copyright and Payments.• Some papers either published somewhere.• Some papers rejected based on the editor’s decision.• Acceptance Rate Total Number of Received Papers = 223Total Number of Accepted Papers = 133Acceptance Rate=(Number of Submissions Accepted / Number of Submissions Received X 100) = 59.64• Average number of reviews per paper: 2 Reviewers for Each Paper• Total number of reviewers involved: 282 Reviewers• Any additional info on review process: • Each paper Assigned to 2 reviewers once passed the technical check.• Once Review Reports received the decision of Guest Editor will be as 3rd reviewer on each certain paper.The manuscript review process was carried out by sending a special form to the reviewers.In the review form, several questions were asked to consider the main points related to the scientific content, quality, and presentation of papers.Through the review process, we have ensured that the reviewers consider the following key points:1- Technical criteria2- Quality criteria3- Display criteriaWe have measured a scale from 1-5 (poor - excellent). Also, the reviewers send their comments and identify the strengths and weaknesses of the paper. Then they give their final recommendations, either acceptance, acceptance with minor corrections, acceptance with major corrections, or rejection.In the event that there are corrections, we send these corrections to the corresponding author and after completing it we resend it again to the reviewers through the second round of review.• Contact person for queries: Dr. Ahmad S.
