Abstract

Despite the advantages of total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) in children, TIVA is not yet a popular anesthetic technique in children (Hill et al., Paediatr Anaesth 18:488–493, 2008). This may be related to the availability of target control infusion (TCI) systems and unfamiliarity with this technique. Practical tips of using TIVA in children are provided with the following case presentation.
