Abstract
Abstract Interventional oncology (IO) is emerging as a pillar of cancer care in pediatric patients. The minimally invasive techniques employed by IO are increasingly being integrated into the diagnostic, therapeutic, and palliative management of children with cancer. This review provides an evidence-based overview to the endovascular, percutaneous, and supportive and palliative procedures offered by pediatric interventional radiologists. An understanding of the modest but growing literature that supports the safety and efficacy of pediatric IO is important in ensuring the continued adoption of IO in the multidisciplinary care of pediatric cancer patients.
