Abstract

A 1-year-old girl with no history of trauma or ocular surgery presented with acute eyelid swelling, conjunctival chemosis, corneal edema, hypopyon, and a white pupillary reflex in her right eye after a bout of gastrointestinal illness. Fundoscopic examination of the fellow eye revealed Coats-like disease with subretinal exudates. Retinoblastoma could not be ruled out by ultrasonography and computed tomography (CT), and enucleation of the right eye was recommended, which the family refused. Due to the possibility of endophthalmitis in the right eye, a vitreous tap was performed, with intravitreal injection of antibiotics.
