Abstract

The article demonstrates the findings of the research conducted in the period of 2000 through 2013. This research also included an annual inquiry of top managers and HR managers among major companies and SMEs. The total number of the inquired enterprises made up 648. The goals of the research: To follow the trend in alteration of requirements in additional business education;To identify peculiarities in training top managers; To analyze top management incentives to being trained; To identify the most efficient pattern of training top managers in the modern period;To identify an effective technique of the training efficiency analysis.Hence, the researcher has come up with the following findings: The companies’ growth of competitiveness has been significantly constrained by existing conventional approaches to both corporate and top management training. Command management development techniques are not sufficiently applied.Lifelong learning strategy is underestimated. Based on the obtained results the researcher identified a number of key points in training top managers. Some guidelines have been developed to draw up programmes for training and development using Open Space pattern. Some recommendations are put forward on propagation techniques of Lifelong Learning concept in a company.
