Abstract
The features of social work in society are analyzed in the article. Particular attention is paid to the views ofdomestic and foreign scholars on the relation between sociology and psychology. The main methods of practicalpsychology that increase the efficiency of a social worker are considered. The authors propose the activeimplementation of the methods of practical psychology in the activities of a social worker during his individual andgroup work, such as psychodiagnostics, psychoconsulting, psychotherapy and psychoprophylaxis.
