Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a condition with an irreversible reduction in the number of functioning nephrons, which results in progressive and permanent deterioration in kidney function. There were numerous complications associated with CKD which include secondary hyperparathyroidism. Controlling elevated serum phosphorus levels and directly targeting suppression of intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) production remain targets. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of etelcalcetide in the treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism in adult patients with CKD undergoing dialysis
