Abstract
Human body composition can be divided into adipose tissue and non-adipose tissue. The content and composition ratio of body composition, which are influenced by multiple factors, such as age, gender, growth and development, dietary nutrition, physical activity and disease, can be used to reflect the nutritional and health status of human body. The body composition of children and adolescents shows more obvious characteristics of changing with their growth and development. Scientific evaluation of the body composition characteristics of children and adolescents, and the level and relative position of individual body composition in the whole population in China is of great significance for the understanding of one's nutritional status, prevention and control of overweight and obesity, and evaluation of long-term health risks. Bioelectrical impedance method has many advantages in the measurement of body composition, such as safety, non-invasiveness, easy operation and stable and reliable results. Moreover, it is suitable for the measurement of body composition of children and adolescents.
