Abstract
Editor,Dental care is now a common component ofmedical missions organized by non-governmental orfaith-based organizations. Short-term missionsengage volunteer health care workers who operatefor short periods mostly in deprived communities.Their activities are often sporadic, irregular anddifficult to follow up. They are also limited byavailability of dental supplies, quality of volunteersand political considerations.
