Abstract

The teaching of color, in the Visual Design Program at University of Caldas, uses some experimental teaching as a way to confront students to social and cultural contexts and to generate knowledge and understanding of the behavior of color. Such confrontation facilitates the generation of a methodological instrument, which is specifically focused in the topic of chromaticism in the environment and in popular expressions. It is suspected that there are only a few references or academic instruments that support the interest for the landscape, the regional architecture and the popular expressions, as a support to the theoretical reflection on color.
