Abstract
In Brazilian literature, there are representations of class relations that lead us to reflection through a critical construction regarding the roles that these relations have in society. Our intention is to reflect on teaching approaches of the existing relations between employers and employees in Brazilian society, from the experience report on the teaching practice of two lecturers, in classes of language and Brazilian literature to foreigners. We will analyze these relations in Dois Irmãos, by Milton Hatoum, O Auto da Compadecida, by Ariano Suassuna, and chronicles by Clarice Lispector published in the book A Descoberta do Mundo, founded on a teaching approach based on the dialogic method by Hayes (1990), which focuses on the development of students’ critical thinking. The topic has been shown to be fruitful in teaching Portuguese as a foreign language, as it allowed to be extended to other Brazilian cultural and historical issues, enriching the learning process.

A literatura é um instrumento de construção e manifestação de representações históricas e sociais, que pode servir como veículo de consolidação de tais representações e contribuir para a permanência ou não de certos estereótipos e ideologias social e culturalmente consolidadas em uma sociedade. A partir de um ensino dialógico (Hayes, 1990), focado no emprego ativo do pensamento crítico, tendo como recurso textos literários, para o ensino de língua portuguesa, história e cultura brasileiras para estrangeiros fora do Brasil, o presente artigo pretende apresentar uma proposta de abordagem de ensino das representações literárias de algumas das relações entre patrões e empregados existentes na sociedade brasileira. Em um curso de língua ou literatura para estrangeiros, nos momentos em que o texto literário é o foco das aulas, cabe ao professor ser o mediador e criar pontes de sentido entre esse texto, alheio à realidade dos leitores em questão, e os alunos, provenientes de contextos culturais e sociais tão distintos. A partir dos livros, são selecionados temas sobre a cultura e a vida no Brasil que servem para discussão e aprofundamento de maneiras que serão aqui descritas e analisadas posteriormente
