Abstract
Organoids are three-dimensional, multicellular and stem-cell-derived in vitro tissue cultures with self-organizing and self-renewing capabilities. In the field of personalized treatment approaches, organoids can serve as a suitable treatment model for molecular and functional analyses, due to their high similarities to the primary tissue that they were derived from. Especially in the field of precision oncology, where a high demand for patient-specific therapy models remains, organoids can serve as an alternative to conventional two-dimensional tissue culture and patient-derived xenografts.
