Abstract

The lifetime and luminous efficiency of a double-emitting-layer cell have been improved by optimizing materials and cell configuration. The lifetime is estimated at over 50 000 h from 300 cd m −2. A passive matrix display based on a double-emitting-layer cell with a pixel number of 256 × 64, a pixel size of 0.30 mm × 0.30 mm and a luminance of 100 cd m −2 provides long lifetime and three stable colors, green, yellow and red.
