Abstract

The paper considered an issue that gave rise to discussions in public, namely: what the shadowed social networking practices in the Northern Caucasus have been rooted in (in particular, in Kabardian – Balkaria), having triggered both the economic offences (as corruption, shadow economy etc.) and the religious extremism as well, and other institutional troubles? The factors having entailed these destructive phenomena were not caused by failures only in modernizing the country in the 1990-ies, being accompanied by the trends to de-industrialize national economy at the Northern Caucasus and to archaize social relations, but also by a specific ractice of Soviet-like social reshaping in the 1920-ies to 1930- ies, being remarkable for the revolutionary reshaping of the local community‟ framework in a drastically changed environment, in a violent way. Studies in specifics of reshaping the social framework within the Kabardian and Balkar communities occurred in the course of Soviet modernizing in the 1920-ies to 1930-ies thereby turned to be of a specific interest nowadays.
