The article examines the causes and consequences of the trend towards a slowing population growth rate in the LAC region due to the impact of a number of socio-economic problems, the phenomenon of migration, as well as the growing significance of the "feminist factor". The author concludes that the future decline in the size of the Latin American community may have a constraining effect on the full realization of its potential.
