Abstract

Abstract We have calculated the effect of particle-vibration coupling on the single particle states in 10 Be, 12 C and 14 C cores. This coupling is very strong in 10 Be nucleus and responsible for the inversion of the sequence of 1 2 − , 1 2 + states in the one neutron halo 11 Be nucleus as known from experiments. In 12 C and 14 C it is a weaker effect so that the ground state of 13 C is an 1 2 − state as expected from a single particle model and as known experimentally. The energy spectra of 11 Be, 13 C and 15 C are qualitatively well reproduced.
