Abstract

In our studies on the structure of neutron-rich beryllium isotopes we investigated the isotope 11 Be using heavy-ion transfer reactions. States between 3 MeV and 4 MeV excitation energy were assigned, where controversial assignments were given in the literature. In the spectroscopy of 16 C we could identify 14 new states, many of them with a structure of three neutrons in the (sd) shell and one neutron hole in the1p1/2 shell.
