Abstract

The experimental data, for the elastic scattering of π − mesons by protons and for charge exchange in the momentum interval 2 to 5 GeV/ c, has been fitted by a model in which the amplitudes are represented as the sum of Regge-pole exchange terms and parametric terms based on polynomial expansions in cos θ. Phase-shift parameters are subsequently obtained by partial wave projection, and the resonant structure of the region is tentatively identified.
