Abstract

Abstract SiC supported nickel catalyst exhibits high activity and selectivity but a little coke deposition in partial oxidation of methane (POM) to syngas, while Ni/Si3N4 catalyst shows excellent activity and coke resistance but slightly poor selectivity. This work employed nitrogen-doped SiC as the catalyst support in order to obtain a POM catalyst with high selectivity and excellent coke resistance. From the testing results, the catalyst 1 h nitridized SiC as the support shows excellent activity, selectivity and coke resistance. The improvement of the catalyst performances benefits from the transformation of the support surface properties.
