Abstract

For the first time, information about the entire parasitofauna of the the so-iuy mullet Planiliza haematocheila has been summarized on the basis of published and personal data. Features of its similarities and differences in the native Pacific region and in the areas of invasion, the Black and Azov Seas, have been identified. Potentially pathogenic parasites for the host’s health have been identified. It is assumed that the cases of death of the so-iuy mullet caused by them are due to the youth of parasite–host relationships, because all these species were acquired by the so-iuy mullet during the introduction into the Sea of Azov. Known practical recommendations are given to reduce the negative impact of one of the groups of macroparasites, trematodes, on the population of the so-iuy mullet in the Azov basin.
