Abstract

The goal of the present study is to analyze the parametric stability of a Timoshenko non-uniform sandwich beam using computational method which is stayed on Pasternak foundation having inconstant spring stiffness parameter. Axial load is applied at terminal points. The governing equation of motion and associated end conditions are defined using extended Hamilton’s principle. The equation of motion and the associated boundary conditions are non-dimensionalized by the application of the main principle of Galerkin method. A set of Hills equations are found from the non-dimensional equation of motion. The regions of parametric instability are analyzed considering the effect of numerous system parameters and geometric parameters and displayed through a series of plots. The computational analysis is done by using MATLAB programming.
