Abstract

ABSTRACT The performance deciders (response variables) were considered in this study, namely, thermal efficiency, exergetic efficiency, exergy destructions, and expander outlet to inlet specific volume flow ratio for optimization of low-grade heat source driven organic Rankine cycle (ORC) using zeotropic mixtures. Moreover, Taguchi of L9 of orthogonal array and the technique for order preference similar to ideal solution (TOPSIS) including entropy weight technique have been employed to get the optimal input parameters for considered response variables. Furthermore, results indicate that 0.9/0.1 is the optimal mass fraction for mixture butane/pentane and 0.1/0.9 is the optimal mass fraction for mixtures hexane/pentane and isohexane/pentane.
