Abstract

Abstract The development of quality prototype is critical in any additive manufacturing process as it directly relates to its strength and accuracy. Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) process is used to build quality prototypes. Thus attempted to study the influence of build factors such as part orientation, part bed temperature, and refresh rate (proper combination of virgin and single time recycled material by percent of volume) on the part quality. Taguchi design technique L9 (3x3) array settings used. For the minimum number of experimental runs with required process factors, the L9 orthogonal array method of experiments prepared using the analysis tools Ratio of S/N, and Analysis of variance (ANOVA). The significant control factors identified for dimensional accuracy using Grey based Taguchi method and which are necessary for designers and Rapid Prototype machine users.
