Abstract
The dynamic stability of a Timoshenko beam with a thermal gradient lying on a variable Pasternak foundation and subjected to a pulsating axial force is studied. The effects of thermal gradient, rotary inertia, and the variation of elastic foundation and shear layer on the regions of parametric instability of simple and combination resonances are investigated. The results reveal that these parameters have a significant effect on the dynamic stability of the system.
