Abstract
Abstract Equations describing the parametric decay of a coherent electromagnetic pump wave into a ponderomotive and electromagnetic scattered wave in a homogeneous collisionless electron plasma are derived. The case of an electrostatic and magnetostatic ponderomotive wave was considered. The expressions for the growth rates in the function of the strength of the incident pump field are derived and compared with the results obtained by other methods.
