Abstract
Summary form only given, as follows. The absorption mechanisms for high frequency waves in plasmas have received much attention in recent years, as such waves can be used for heating of fusion plasma. Thus the upper hybrid frequency region have been extensively investigated. In the present paper we consider the absorption processes when the frequency of the pump wave is close to the upper hybrid frequency. We then suppose that the pump wave excites daughter upper hybrid and lower hybrid waves. In the region above the instability threshold we found the effective collision frequency and then calculated the absorption length of upper hybrid wave energy in the plasma. Our results can be of interest for studying the efficiency of parametric absorption of upper hybrid radiation energy in the devices with magnetic confinement of the plasma.
