Abstract

Laboratory experiments on stably stratified grid turbulence have suggested that turbulent diffusivity , suggesting that such Reynolds–Richardson number or Reynolds–Froude number aggregates are more descriptive of stratified turbulent flow conditions than the conventional reliance on Richardson number alone.
