Abstract
A parameter-extraction-like procedure is presented for obtaining the boundary integral equation for quasistatic and full-wave analyses of multilayered planar transmission lines shielded with a rectangular waveguide. It is shown that boundary integral equations for all respective regions can be easily combined. The boundary integral equation obtained by the present method is the same as that obtained using a conventional method with a suitable choice of Green's function. A geometrical-series method is employed to speed up the convergence. Examples cover the fundamental and higher-order-mode, including complex-mode, characteristics of several common planar structures.
