Abstract

The g shift and linewidth of Gd in a series of alloys of the form (La1-xGdx)Al2 have been studied as a function of temperature. At the lowest concentrations (x<0.0025) a large positive g shift to +0.063+or-0.01 has been observed, but as the concentration is increased the system becomes progressively bottlenecked. No signs of dynamic effects in the EPR bottleneck have been observed. At high concentrations (x>0.05) the effects of magnetic ordering in the system are clearly shown.
