Abstract

In the light of the latest major global migrations, and even refugee crises, intercultural communication is on a special exam. New reality also requires new answers, primarily in intercultural coupling, with new interpretations and contemporary theoretical reflections, which certainly involves the exchange of thoughts, feelings, messages between members of two or more ethnic groups. Each nation is characterized by a special, specific type of communication. In interethnic relations and intercultural communication, the knowledge of the culture, customs, traditions and ways of communication are very important. Communication as the basis of interpersonal relationships is important for establishing the first but also true contact between members of these different groups. It allows people not to be perceived solely as strangers, because it is only in a dialogue that it is a link that can bring people, nations ... In this work we deal with intercultural communication through the concept of an alien - the significance of such kind of communication, advantages, disadvantages and possible traps in interpreting this complex social issue. Anyone who speaks a different language can be considered a stranger. But this does not mean that it must necessarily be rejected. By contrast, diversity might also find wealth that complements the life of individuals and brings new, different, more versatile views of the world. Traps in intercultural communication are numerous, but there are also few ways that, through dialogue, help bring about closer intercultural communication and therefore a better understanding.
