Abstract

The genre of parable is known almost from very beggining of literature. As simbolical-allegorical representation of reality device, parable revive and consolidate in the literature and art of XXth century. Parabolic literature features are shown in lithuanian authors of XX–XXIth century prose – in the novels of Ricardas Gavelis’, Saulius Tomas Kondrotas’, Jolita Skablauskaitė’s. The aim of the article is to analize the dialogism of the modern/neomodern parabolic prose and to compare features of traditional and modern parable. The article is based on hermeneutic methodology, Michail Bakhtin’s theory of polyphony and carnivalization of literature, and existentialism.KEY WORDS: parable, dialogism, prose of XX–XXIth century, hermeneutic, carnivalization of literature, existentialism, polyphony, allegory.
