Abstract
This article was written based on the results of qualitative literature research which aims to determine the impact of panic buying in March 2020 on the inflation rate in Indonesia and to classify panic buying as the cause of inflation based on al-Maqrizi's perspective. The background of this research is because there are only a few studies on panic buying in Islamic economic discourse that can be found when browsing in Google Scholar page, even though panic buying at that period was a problem in various countries. The results of this study are: 1) the panic buying that occurred in Indonesia was not severe, so it does not have an impact on the inflation rate; 2) according to al-Maqrizi’s perspective, panic buying can be classified into human error inflation.
