Abstract

AbstractThe environmentally friendly, simple synthesis of a family complexes of the general formula [NHC⋅H][Pd(NH2)(CC)Cl2] (CC=biphenyl) is presented. The catalytic activity of these air‐ and moisture‐stable complexes was evaluated as a function of the imidazolium counterion. These pre‐catalysts can be converted, under catalytic conditions, to Pd‐NHC species enabling the Suzuki–Miyaura, Sonogashira, and Buchwald–Hartwig amination reactions under very mild operating conditions.
