Abstract

The study of the pictorial works of Abel Salazar was the outcome of the Master of Techniques and Conservation of Painting’s essay, at the Universidade Catolica Portuguesa. It was based on all information gathered during the conservation and restoration works held on the collection of the Museum House (2003/4), and the physical and physical-chemical studies undertaken by the Laboratory. It was possible to determine the technique, materials, such as pigments and charges used by the artist on seven of his master-pieces, referring to different periods.
