Abstract

In this paper, by exploiting the unique characteristic of railroad wireless communication, a novel packet delivery delay reduction scheme for railroad wireless communication system using 3rd Generation Partnership Program (3GPP) Long Term Evolution (LTE) is proposed. In order to meet the requirements of LTE-R (LTE Railway) and provide high QoS level, it is very crucial to have very small packet delivery delay. By using the proposed scheme, almost zero service interruption time during handover can be achieved
