Abstract

Alcohol use disorder (AUD) is commonly associated with co-occurring psychiatric symptoms. However, it is unclear if assessing traditional diagnoses or taking a novel transdiagnostic approach would be more beneficial in understanding real-life functioning and the neural circuits underlying these comorbidities. Thus, the current study aimed to compare a transdiagnostic approach versus traditional diagnoses as they relate to emotion regulation (ER) strategies and salience network (SN) function in AUD.
