Abstract

CFTR modulator therapy improves respiratory function with consequential reductions in resting energy expenditure in people with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Traditionally, CF dietetic management focuses on meeting high energy needs with typically high fat, sugar, and salt foods aetiologically linked to diet-related chronic diseases. This study aims to analyse habitual dietary intakes of Irish adults with CF, comparing to CF dietary guidelines and assess diet quality with population specific healthy eating guidelines. Participant information is gathered using demographic questionnaires and dietary data via three-day food diaries. Dietary data is statistically analysed in SPSS® and compared to CF and population dietary guidelines.
