Abstract

Hyaluronan is a major glycosaminoglycan in uterine fluid and has been shown to increase cell-cell and cell-matrix adhesion, therefore may improve embryos apposition and attachment. Previous studies in mice and humans have revealed that high hyaluronan concentration in embryo transfer medium increases implantation and pregnancy rates. However, preliminary results presented by us last year didn’t show advantage in performing embryo transfer with hyaluronan enriched medium. This study is aimed to further evaluate whether the use of embryo transfer medium enriched with hyaluronan (EmbryoGlue® - Vitrolife, Sweden) improves pregnancy rate in IVF treatment.
