Abstract

In this study, we synthesized Bi2MoO6 with enriched oxygen vacancies (OVs) using a one-pot hydrothermal method in the presence of triblock copolymers P123. P123 plays a crucial role in modulating the morphology of the materials during the hydrothermal process. Compared with Bi2MoO6, Bi2MoO6-P123 exhibits thinner nanosheets and significantly enhances photocatalytic CO2 reduction properties. Photocatalytic efficiency of Bi2MoO6-P123 is found to be 1.05 times greater than that of Bi2MoO6. The enhanced photocatalytic activity of Bi2MoO6-P123 can be attributed to a larger specific surface area, increased concentration of OVs and higher separation efficiency of photogenerated carriers. This study offers valuable insights into design of advanced materials with enriched OVs through a facile approach.
