Abstract

AbstractA novel waveform composition method for passive matrix addressing of Cholesteric LCDs is proposed. for the first time for 2+2 dynamic drive schemes we show that during addressing while one row is in the selection stage other rows can be in two different addressing stages — the preparation and holding stages. It allows us to decrease the frame time for addressing with no row‐number‐dependent and no data‐pattern‐dependent defects. Also, we present comparative analysis of the new and some previously known 2+2 dynamic drive schemes in which different waveform composition methods and pipeline algorithms are used.
