Abstract

The effect of chiral polymer network in polymer‐stabilized blue phase liquid crystals (PS‐BPLCs) was investigated. Compare with the conventional polymer network, the chiral PS‐BPLCs may induce and stabilize the blue phase with less proportion of chiral dopant resulting in a higher Kerr constant. The hysteresis and residual birefringence may be improved by introducing a chiral monomer with more rigid structure. And the response time is little effected by the chiral polymer network.
