Abstract

The effects of laser heating on the oxygen content and ordering in RBa 2Cu 3O 7−δ (R = Nd, Y; δ ∼ 0) have been studied by means of micro-Raman spectroscopy. The laser treatment results in strong modification of the apex oxygen band ( A g ( zz)) which becomes of complex lineshape and appearance of new spectral features. A room-temperature-ageing effect consisting in tranffer of intensity between different spectral components has also been observed. The results are discussed in the framework of a model for rearrangement of the basal oxygen atoms in ordered nanodomains of different oxygen content.
