Abstract

Free radicals have become fashionable in recent years. Hundreds of articles and many regional and national meetings have been devoted to them. The first international symposium on free radicals will take place this year in Vienna. Free radicals seem to be involved in one way or another in many diseases, such as cancer, ischemia, circulatory shock, inflammation and liver cirrhosis (Table 1).
