Abstract

The performance for water photo-oxidation of a Cr-doped SrTiO 3 photoanode coated with a Ru-oxide film is studied. The experimental results, which are interpreted in terms of a two-interface model, could support those obtained by Grätzel and coworkers with RuO 2-coated, colloidal CdS “microelectrodes”. This seems to open new perspectives in the stabilization of photoeorrosion-prone electrodes for solar energy conversion.
