Abstract

ABSTRACT TWO types of pressure tests, the constant pressure test and the variable pressure test can be used to deter-mine the gas permeability of oxygen controlled silos. Both methods were evaluated and showed good agree-ment with variable pressure testing appearing the more feasible one. The effect of variations in environmental temperature and atmospheric pressure on the oxygen in-take of the silos was simulated and permeability limits required for proper oxygen control in metal and concrete silos were defined.
