Abstract
The reaction of N, N'-dicyclohexylthiourea with excess dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) in the presence of hydrochloric acid gave 90% of N, N'-dicyclohexylurea together with dimethyl sulfide and sulfur. Similarly N-cyclohexyl-N'-isopropylurea, N-cyclohexyl-N'-t-butylurea, N, N'-di-t-butylurea, N, N'-di-sec-butylurea, N-sec-butyl-N'-isopropylurea and N-sec-butyl-N'-t-butylurea were obtained from the corresponding thioureas.
