Abstract
1. The radical-chain process of oxidation of tertiary aliphatic amines is characterized by the appearance of linear chain termination. The ratios of the rate constants of chain propagation and termination (kl) have high values. 2. The large values of the stoichiometric coefficients of inhibition are explained by the redox properties of peroxide radicals (RO2.) of amines. 3. Inhibitors (In H) of radical chain reactions effectively inhibit the oxidation of amines. The ratios k(RO2+In H)/kl were measured for nine In H of various classes in N,N-dimethylcyclohexylamine and trin-butylamine medium at 55°.
