Abstract

The article presents a response by Professors Rousseau and Shperling to criticism by Professors Zardkoohi and Paetzold of their 2003 paper, ‘Pieces of the Action: Ownership and the Changing Employment Relationship.’ Rousseau and Shperling maintain that their work was context-specific, focusing exclusively on knowledge workers and knowledge-intensive firms, whereas Zardkoohi and Paetzold based their criticisms on data drawn from all industries. Consequently, the authors argue, their conclusions remain valid.
